If you have been into jiu jitsu long enough you might remember that the artwork for this design first surfaced back in 2012.
It was drawn by Kim Minoh for an MMA school that eventually went out of business.
We resurrected Kim's art with some enhancements. For starters, the resolution of the image was enhanced, all the fine lines were re-drawn. The colors were made brighter, and an actual BJJ belt was added.
Some may argue that the submission being applied is actually a triangle given the position of the legs of the bottom grappler but the fact the arm is being pulled down instead of to the side is a clear indication it is actually an arm bar. The legs crossed over the head prevent the opponent from pulling away to escape.
