This embroidered patch measures 5 inches tall by 5 inches wide. It has an iron-on backing but if being placed on a Gi, it’s recommended it is stitched on to ensure it does not peal off with time. If being applied to a hoodie, backpack, or any other fabric that won’t feel the abuse of BJJ, the iron on method should work just fine.
Iron On Instructions:
place the patch on the desired location. Place a towel over the patch. Place an iron on the highest setting on top of the towel over the patch and apply pressure moving the iron over the covered patch. Do this for about 2-3 minutes. Remove the towel and try to lift the patch from one of the edges. If it comes off easily, repeat the towel/iron process. Once the patch feels stuck on the fabric. Turn the garment inside out and repeat the same process from the back side of the fabric. The goal is to keep the patch in place with ironing on the front side so that it does not move when you turn it inside out, the ironing on the backside is what really melts the adhesive good enough for the patch to really stay on.
